Simon’s Special Shoes
This excerpt is from ‘Simon’s Special Shoes’ picture book
Simon wasn’t sure if the magic story was true,
She whispered softly, “A wizard made them just for you.
Put them on, and they'll make you brave as can be,
You can do anything Simon, just wait and see."
He slipped on the shoes and felt a sudden jolt,
A surge of energy, like a lightning bolt.
Simon, once shy, his doubt began to clear,
The next day in his shoes, he was free of fear.
He joined in the game and scored a brilliant goal,
Swung on the monkey bars, jumped puddles whole.
He played chase and laughed, with new friends by his side,
A different boy was on show with a smile a mile wide.
